“Bruiser Love”

This video dives into the mundane routine and repetitiveness of a dog’s life. Although
there might be some unexpected excitements along the way, each day can be broken down into the same routine and the same actions. Taking this perception further, nine videos are combined together with the main subject of all of them being the same dog, my dog. The layout and viewing were inspired by security camera footages that are seen yet forgotten in everyday life. With the notion that these screens are disregarded and monotonous, each video is played on a loop for the entire duration of the work. The intent is to have the video projected into a half-lit open space so the video is slightly faded when seen and the viewer can choose to either stop and take a moment to watch it or just surpass it. This continues the notion that the spectator will overlook some details. The video is supposed to have a calming yet dull and repetitive undertone present with some unexpected surprises, which clearly represents not only this dog’s life but also perhaps the viewer’s.
